Araujo sends defiant message after UCL loss
The defender has made his feelings clear
Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has sent a defiant message to supporters after Tuesday’s Champions League loss at the hands of Bayern Munich.
Ronald Koeman’s side lost their opening match of a Champions League campaign for the first time since 1997-98 and didn’t manage a single shot on target in the 90 minutes.
It was a different story for Bayern who opened the scoring through Thomas Muller, added two more from Robert Lewandowski and could have had a few more too.
There’s no doubt it was a tough night for the Catalan giants, but Araujo certainly isn’t giving up hope just yet.
Here’s his post on Instagram stories after the match.
“Visca Barça, always! Thank you all for the support. We lost the battle, but the war is not over yet. We will return stronger!!”

Koeman reverted to three center-backs for the visit of Bayern with Araujo starting alongside Gerard Pique and Eric Garcia, while Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto played out wide for the hosts.
The Barca defense was kept busy by Lewandowski and Co., but Araujo put in a strong showing and was one of the few bright spots for the hosts on another disappointing Champions League night for the Catalans.
