Barca turned down two players in Emerson deal - report
The right-back moved to Spurs on deadline day
Barcelona reportedly turned down the chance to bring in either Tanguy Ndombele or Serge Aurier as part of the deal that saw Emerson Royal move to Tottenham.
Emerson left Barcelona on deadline day after just three appearances for the club when Tottenham agreed to paid €25 million for the Brazil international.
Fabrizio Romano has offered some insight into the transfer and reckons Ndombele or Aurier were offered to Barca but the Catalan giants weren’t interested in either player.
It’s not the first time Ndombele has been linked with Barca, but it’s no surprise the club didn’t move for the midfielder, particularly given the current financial mess at the Camp Nou.
Ronald Koeman spoke about Emerson’s move recently and admitted he had approved the sale because of the club’s financial predicament and the fact he had other right-back options in his squad.
“It’s not been easy. An example of me wanting to help the club is the Emerson decision,” he said.
“I told the club if the money was important, they can sell Emerson because we have Dest, Mingueza and even Sergi Roberto. I didn’t stand in the way because I could have said: ‘He’s not moving.’”

Emerson made his Tottenham debut on Saturday but it wasn’t a great start to life in the Premier League as the north Londoners were beaten 3-0 at Crystal Palace.
