Lots to talk about

Safe to say things still aren’t great at Barcelona. Just as soon as you think everyone is on the same page about not being in the top European tier, they hold late-night emergency meetings.

No one is surprised at what happened at the Camp Nou yesterday. Barcelona’s 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich was a reminder of where Barcelona sit in the European pecking order. Again, it surprised no one, except seemingly Barcelona’s senior officials.

Joan Laporta was joined in the late-night meetings by vice president Rafa Yuste and CEO Mateu Alemany. The trio apparently felt the need to hold this meeting in spite of their “commitment” to Ronald Koeman for the short-term future of Barcelona. The report details that no “drastic” decisions are expected in the short term.

I’d expect this sort of meeting if Barcelona lost to Benfica or Dynamo Kyiv in this fashion. But Bayern? Barcelona were lucky to only concede three.
