Sarri wants to face Barca in Champions League last 16
They draw will be made on Monday
Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri has said he wants to play Barcelona in the next round of the Champions League after making it through to the knockout stages.
Both teams are into the last 16 and could be paired together when the draw is made on Monday in Switzerland.
Barcelona finished in top spot and go through as group winners, while Lazio came second to Atletico Madrid in a group also containing Feyenoord and Celtic.
Here’s what Sarri has said about facing Barcelona.
“I’d like to face Barcelona in the round of 16, honestly,” Sarri told Sky Sport.
“It’d be my pick as I’ve never faced Barça as a coach and it’d be a wonderful experience.”
Barcelona’s defeat to Wednesday means there’s not a lot of optimism around at the moment, but the last 16 games will not take place until February and a lot can change by then.
