Some big names will be missing on Wednesday

Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has opted to rest some key players for the team’s final Champions League group game against Antwerp.

Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong, Ilkay Gundogan and Ronald Araujo have all been left out of the squad for the match in Belgium.

Injured stars Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Gavi, Inigo Martinez and Marcos Alonso are also out, meaning there are plenty of youngsters called up for the clash.

Hector Fort, Pau Cubarsi, Marc Casado, Aleix Garrido, Angel Alarcon and Marc Guiu are on the list along with goalkeepers Ander Astralaga and Diego Kochen.

Barcelona have already secured their place in the last 16 of the tournament and are in good shape to progress as group winners as they are three points clear at the top.

Antwerp have lost all five group games so far, conceding 15 goals and scoring just three in what’s been a poor European campaign.

Barcelona ran out 5-0 winners when the two teams met at Montjuic at the start of the campaign.
