Dro Fernandez made his debut for PSG on Sunday as a second-half substitute in a 5-0 win over Marseille in Ligue 1.

The teenager joined the club in the January transfer window from Barcelona and spoke after the game about why he had decided to make the switch.

“Luis Enrique is an incredible coach. Everyone told me he was an incredible coach, and that’s one of the reasons I signed here. He has a lot of faith in young players. Paris is the best place for me,“ he said.

“I’m making the most of the minutes I’m given, I’m in no hurry. I’m going to keep working so that things continue this way and I can play more. Everything has been very easy, to be honest. Since I arrived, it’s as if I’ve been here since the beginning of the season; I must thank everyone for this welcome.

“Playing here is incredible. I was really looking forward to coming here and discovering it. We knew that Marseille is a very difficult team, but if we did things right, they would find it difficult to trouble us at home. Yes, it was a very special match. I hope to be here for many years and have many experiences.”

Hansi Flick has spoken of his disappointment at losing Dro but handed another youngster a chance on Saturday, as Tommy Marques became the ninth La Masia graduate to debut under the German coach at Barca.
