Barcelona linked with move for Gent teen Jorthy Mokio
The teenager could be on the move
Barcelona are being linked with a move for Gent’s 16-year-old defender Jorthy Mokio who could be set to move away from the club.
It’s been reported by RMC Sport’s Sacha Tavolieri that the teenager wants to leave the club and was a guest of Barcelona’s at least week’s Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

Mokio only turned 16 in February but has already made his first-team debut for Gent and is part of the Belgium’s youth-set up.
The teenager is a highly-regarded left-sided defender, and it seems that Barca are certainly considering bringing him into the club.
Jorthy Mokio joined the KAA Gent youth academy from KFC Merelbeke in 2021.

Roma have also been linked with a move for the youngster and it’s likely there may be more clubs across the continent keeping tabs on his situation.
Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws reports that Mokio has still not signed a professional contract with Gent and he may well indeed leaving because the club “cannot meet his family’s current financial demands.”
