Patience is needed

Barcelona have reportedly told Nico Williams to be patient as they try to find a way to bring him to the club in the summer transfer window.

The Athletic Club star is Barca’s top priority, and Joan Laporta is confident the Catalans can afford the forward, but there’s no doubt work has to be done first.

According to Relevo, Barcelona are set for further talks this week and have already told Williams patience will be needed.

Barcelona are hoping to seal the deal before Williams is due to return to pre-season training after helping Spain win Euro 2024.

Williams is due back at Athletic on August 12, but Barca want to activate his release clause before then to ensure he heads to Barcelona insterad.

To do so Barcelona will need to get busy off the pitch. The report adds that Barca need to finalise their new kit deal with Nike, find an investor replace Libero and make some sales.

It’s a lot of work to be done by Barcelona if they are to snap up their top target this summer, and fans will be hoping for some more positive updates in the next few weeks.
