Another win for La Roja

Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez was on target as Spain beat the Dominican Republic 2-1 on Saturday at the Paris Olympics in Bordeaux.

Lopez struck midway through the first half when he was rewarded for some energetic pressing, won the ball and slid it past the goalkeeper.

Spain dominated the first half but were stunned just before the break when Angel Montes De Oca was allowed a free header and scored to make it 1-1.

However, there was more drama to follow when Edison Azcona was shown a red card for a kick out on Pau Cubarsi just before half-time, leaving the Dominican Republic down to 10.

Spain took advantage of the man advantage and restored their lead 10 minutes into the second half through Alex Baena.

Miguel Gutierrez then finished things off with 20 minutes to go, tapping home at the far post after a cross by Fermin found its way all the way to the back stick.

Lopez was given a breather after 75 minutes, and Cubarsi went off on 66, while Eric Garcia played the whole 90 minutes once again.

The win means Spain have booked their place in the knockout stages of the tournament ahead of their final group game against Egypt on Tuesday.
