Joao Felix starting to have doubts about Barca future
Playing time might be a problem
Joao Felix is said to now be having doubts about staying at Barcelona due to the club’s strong interest in Nico Williams.
The Athletic Club and Spain star has emerged as Barca’s top summer transfer target, with president Joan Laporta claiming the Catalans can afford to bring him in.
If Williams were to arrive it would intensify the competition for places in attack with Williams joining Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Ferran Torres, Vitor Roque, Ansu Fati and Robert Lewandowski in the squad currently.
Felix is aware that he would therefore find it very difficult to have minutes at Barcelona and is thus now doubting if it’s the best move, according to Diario Sport.
The Portugal international has previously hinted he was determined to stay, but he doesn’t want to spend the majority of the season on the bench.
It’s also been reported that Felix wants his future sorted quickly, and not at the last minute, which also suggests he’s starting to think of a future away from Barcelona.
Former club Benfica have been linked with a move for Felix, although it remains to be seen if they will be able to reach a suitable agreement with Atletico Madrid.
