Barca talks for Chiesa heat up, Juve star willing to take pay cut

Barcelona continue to be linked with a move for Juventus forward Federico Chiesa after seemingly giving up on their attempts to land Nico Williams from Athletic Club.

Gerard Romero seems particularly excited about the transfer, posting a simple message on X that suggests things are heating up.

Meanwhile, Italian outlet La Reppublica are reporting the two clubs are in talks over a transfer worth €14 million and that Barca are “determined to sign the winger.”

Chiesa also seems keen on the transfer and is willing to take a pay cut. The Italy star earns around €6m per year at Juventus but could accept a wage of around €4.5m at Barca.

Juventus are already thinking about their transfer plans if Chiesa does end up going to Barcelona before the window closes.

The Turin giants want to bring in Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina, so Chiesa’s departure could suit all three parties.

Barcelona have only signed Dani Olmo this summer but seem determined to add another player before the transfer window closes.
