The defender could go before the window closes

Barcelona are no longer ruling out selling Andreas Christensen before the summer transfer window closes.

The Danish defenderhas previously said he’s happy at Barca and not thinking about leaving but has several admirers and could be offloaded if attractive offers arrive in the next week or so.

Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Newcastle are keen on the defender and could make a move as they bid to strengthen their defence.

There's also a suggestion that Christensen will not have as much prominence this season under new manager Hansi Flick.

Christensen was only a substitute against Valencia in Barcelona’s opening game of the season, while Flick interestingly experimented with Eric Garcia as pivot in the second half.

The defender still has two years left on his contract but his departure would help Barcelona's difficult financial situation.

MD also report that Christensen “would not be against” leaving Barcelona as long as any offers meet his ambitions, while Sport say the club want €25m for the Dane.
