Barcelona legend Rivaldo has explained why he feels Raphinha is thriving this season under Hansi Flick.
Raphinha is part of a brilliant Barcelona attack, alongside Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal, that is banging in the goals this season.
The Brazil international has also taken on the armband, and Rivaldo says that the faith shown in him by Flick has been absolutely crucial.
“Raphinha’s biggest confidence comes from the coach. He’s giving him a lot of confidence, he’s already one of the captains,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“A player with Raphinha’s quality needs the coach’s confidence. Xavi is a good person, he’s a friend, but I don’t think he gave him that much confidence.
“He’d put him on, then take him off. And now he has the coach’s confidence and that’s noticeable on the pitch.”
Raphinha made his 100th appearance for Barcelona on Wednesday against Bayern and marked it in style with a hat-trick in a 4-1 win.
