Barca offer Inigo injury update after Real Madrid win
The defender has been sidelined
Barcelona have offered an update on Inigo Martinez's fitness following the Super Cup win over Real Madrid on Sunday in Saudi Arabia.
The defender was forced off in the first half and replaced by Ronald Araujo, with initial reports claiming he would be out for five weeks.
Barcelona have now confirmed the injury after further tests and say Martinez will miss around a month of first-team action for Hansi Flick’s side.
Here's the club's official statement:
"Medical News | Tests conducted this morning confirmed that I. MartÃnez has suffered a right hamstring tear. He is expected to be out for around 4 weeks."
Araujo is expected to replace Martinez in the starting XI, although doubts remain over his future at the club.
Juventus are reportedly keen to sign Araujo in the January transfer window but it remains to be seen if he will wave goodbye to Barcelona this winter.
