Bad news for the striker

Barcelona striker Pau Victor will be unable to go out on loan for the second half of the season if the club fail in their bid to get the youngster registered.

Victor had been tipped to spend the second half of the season elsewhere if he’s unable to play for Barca but it seems that won’t be able to happen.

Reports in Spain confirm that Victor can’t move if he’s not registered and is therefore facing spending significant time on the sidelines.

Victor’s situation does differ slightly from Dani Olmo’s, as the Spain star has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for free if he’s not registered.

Mundo Deportivo say that Victor is “calm and composed” about the situation right now but it’s obviously going to be a source of real frustration.

Barca have tied Victor down to a contract that runs until 2029, meaning his long-term future is secured, but if he is forced out of action in 2025 it will be a real setback.

Victor has made 17 appearances for Barca this season, but just one as a starter, and scored two goals and bagged an assist.

He would have been hoping for a start this weekend against Barbastro in the Copa del Rey, but it seems now that will not happen.
