Deco doesn’t sound too sure about signing Tah for Barca

‘What we have to do now is to calm down a little’
Barcelona have been heavily linked with Jonathan Tah for some time now, with reports even claiming a deal to sign the defender on a free contract is practically completed.
Yet Deco has been asked specifically about Tah in his latest round of interviews and doesn’t sound at all sure that the Bayer Leverkusen played will be arriving.
Diario Sport asked Deco if Ronald Araujo staying means that Barca don’t need any more defenders and this is how he replied.
“What we have to do now is to calm down a little after the market. We have to touch with our feet on the ground, analyze what happened to us, the difficulties we have had, whether we are going to have them in the future or not, and what we can do,” he told Diario Sport.
“We know the team we have today, there are many things that could change, such as the case of Eric García.
“There are many variables that we do not control, but the idea is there and we know what we want. If we have four centre-backs, it will be difficult to bring something in, it’s true.”
Araujo has signed a new contract and, even though he’s agreed a vastly reduced release clause, has said he’s happy at the club and wants to continue.
Barca obviously want four center-backs for next season and that looks like being Pau Cubarsi, Inigo Martinez, Ronald Araujo and one more.
Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen are options for the fourth spot, along with Tah, but (unless Araujo does move on) it seems both may have to depart if the Germany star is to arrive.
