Should Barca try to sign Luis Diaz this summer?

The forward keeps being linked with a move
Barcelona’s main objective for the summer transfer window is believed to be to try and sign a left winger to strengthen the attack.
Sporting director Deco has hinted as such in a recent interview with the Spanish press.
“We have players who can play in various positions: Olmo, Raphinha, Fermín... but it’s true that we might be missing a player on the left wing,” he told Sport.
“It’s not that it’s an absolute priority because Raphinha is performing perfectly and Fermín can play there even though it’s not his position. If you look at the squad, maybe we could have one more player there.”

One player whose name continues to crop up is Liverpool forward Luis Diaz. The Colombian has been linked with Barcelona many times in the past and his name continues to feature in the gossip columns as we had towards the summer window.
Diaz’s father has previously admitted that “Luis is a loyal Barcelona fan and it would be his dream to go there” which suggests it would not take much to tempt him away from Liverpool where he has a contract until 2027.
The price tag may be the problem, although he’s still likely to be cheaper than other left wing targets such as Rafa Leao and Nico Williams, but sales will be needed before any new signings can arrive.

Diaz has netted 13 goals this season for Liverpool in all competitions and is set for his best ever scoring tally for the Reds. He’s also likely to end the campaign with more silverware, as Arne Slot’s side sit top of the Premier League table and are into the Carabao Cup final.
Yet there may well be plenty of change at the club come the the summer. Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mo Salah are all out of contract soon and could move, while it seems that Diaz is facing an uncertain future too.
