Barca close in on signing of Portuguese wonderkid Varela
His agent spoke to the club on Thursday
Barcelona are reportedly closing in on signing Portuguese wonderkid Cardoso Varela from Dinamo Zagreb.
Varela’s agent is Andy Bara - who also represents Dani Olmo and Joan Garcia - and he was spotted at the club on Thursday for negotiations.
According to Croatian news outlet 24sata, an agreement was struck for 16-year-old Varela to join Barcelona in an initial €5 million deal which also includes a potential €20m in add-ons.

Varela is expected to stay at Dinamo Zagreb on loan for another season, after Barcelona Atletic were releglated last season, to continue his development and will then head to the Catalan city next year.
Barcelona have been linked with Varela for a little while now but do appear to be closing in on his signature. Spanish sources aren’t quite as optimistic but are reporting Barca are hoping to do a deal.
Varela is an exciting left winger, who has been compared to both Vinicius Jr and Jeremy Doku, and clearly looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
