What’s going on with Ansu’s potential move from Barca to Monaco?

The deal is still not done
Ansu Fati is expected to leave Barcelona this summer and head to Ligue 1 side Monaco in a bid to get his career back on track.
The rumors first popped up last month and the two parties were then said to be “finalising” one last detail but the deal is still yet to go through.
Fati has been on holiday over the last week or so but is set to return shortly and will hopefully be able to resolve his future.
According to Mundo Deportivo, there are still some important details to be finalised. Barca want to include a mandatory purchase option in the transfer, something Fati doesn’t seem keen on and Monaco aren’t convinced either. The Ligue 1 side would rather it was an optional clause, so some negotiation is still needed.
The clubs are also still yet to decide on the amount for the purchase option. A fee of €15 million has been mentioned but apparently has not yet been agreed on.
Barcelona and Monaco also still have to agree on Fati’s wages. Monaco don’t want to pay his entire salary and there’s a suggestion they won’t pay more than 40%.
All of which means there’s still a fair bit to do and some time pressure also. According to Diario Sport, if the Fati can move to Monaco before the end of June he can take advantage of some tax breaks which may help sweeten the deal.
Barcelona will also be eager to get the transfer sorted quickly so Flick can try and shape his squad before the start of pre-season on July.
