Marcus Rashford ruled out of Atletico Copa del Rey tie as Barcelona issue injury update
Barcelona have confirmed that Marcus Rashford will miss Thursday’s Copa del Rey tie with Atletico Madrid due to a knee problem.
Rashford missed training ahead of the match on Wednesday, and the Catalan giants have now issued an injury update on the Manchester United loanee.
“First team player Marcus Rashford is experiencing discomfort in his left knee resulting from a blow received during the match against Mallorca. He is ruled out as a precautionary measure for tomorrow’s match against Atlético de Madrid,” the club said in a statement.
Raphinha is also expected to miss the game against Atletico as he is yet to return to training after being diagnosed with an overload. The Brazilian has been forced to sit out Barcelona’s last two games and still seems to be suffering some discomfort.
Barcelona face Atletico on Thursday and then play again on Monday when they travel to Girona in La Liga.
