Reality Check: If Barcelona end the season with only La Liga, would you be satisfied?

Barcelona’s painful defeat to Atlético Madrid in the Copa del Rey on Thursday was a tough reality check for a team still searching for their best version as we enter the stretch run of the 2025-26 season.

The Blaugrana had won 17 or the previous 18 matches before their humbling loss in Madrid, which leaves them hanging by a thread in the Spanish Cup and creates serious doubt about their chances in the Champions League.

Barça still control their destiny in La Liga and will be favorites to win it given Real Madrid’s inconsistencies, but it’s safe to wonder whether the Catalans are capable of winning another title beyond the league.
