Barcelona have been hit with some more bad news on the injury front as striker Robert Lewandowski has been ruled out of Tuesday’s Copa del Rey clash with Atletico due to injury.

Hansi Flick’s side head into the game needing plenty of goals after losing the first leg 4-0 but will have to make do without Lewandowski.

The striker has been ruled out of the game due to an injury sustained against Villarreal.

“First-team player Robert Lewandowski suffered trauma during yesterday’s match against Villarreal. The tests carried out today have diagnosed a bone fracture on the inner side of the left eye’s orbit,” the club said in a statement.

“The player will be sidelined for Tuesday’s match against Atlético de Madrid.”

The news will be a real blow to Barca and means that Lewandowski will join Frenkie de Jong on the sidelines for the big match.

Ferran Torres may therefore start again in attack, although Marcus Rashford may also be an option. The good news for Flick is that Lamine Yamal heads into the game fresh from scoring a hat-trick, while Pedri is fit again and expected to start.
