FC Barcelona dominant in past Camp Nou meetings with Málaga
The Catalans have won nine of the last ten league fixtures at home to the Andalusians
This Saturday, FC Barcelona take on Málaga, one of just two sides to take all three points from their visit to the Camp Nou last season. But despite that surprise 1-0 defeat, Barcelona traditionally get the better of their Andalusian counterparts.
Malaga’s win in February was their first at the Camp Nou since 1999/2000, when they picked up a 2-1 victory with Louis van Gaal in the home dugout.
Nine wins in ten
Aside from last season’s defeat, Barça have come out on top in nine of the last ten meetings at home, and in convincing fashion too, having scored 32 times and conceded just five.
The most common result has been 4-1, which was how the game ended on three consecutive occasions between 2011 and 2013, while the biggest scoreline was 6-0 in 2008/09, the goals scored by Xavi, Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto’o (2) and Dani Alves.
