Mina explains why he left Barcelona for Everton
The defender signed a five-year deal
Yerry Mina has explained why he left Barcelona for Everton after signing a five-year deal with the Toffees.
The defender spent just seven months at the Camp Nou before moving to the Premier League on deadline day for a fee of €30.25 million.
Barcelona have made a healthy profit on the Colombia international and also included a buy-back option in his contract.
“It is important that the club want to fight for something,” he said. “This is why I am here.
“I have watched the Premier League for a long time. It is the best league in the world. This is a great opportunity for me and I am looking forward to competing here.
“I know about Everton’s players and I look forward to being able to play with my new team. I have spoken a lot to the coach and I know his passion for Everton and determination to be successful. I am also determined to do my best for Everton.
“I worked hard during my holiday and now I am ready to play and do important things with the club.”

After barely featuring for Barcelona Mina will be hoping to become a regular for Marco Silva’s side. He will also be playing with some familiar faces, as Lucas Digne and Andre Gomes also joined Everton in the summer transfer window.
