Messi is a ‘fierce animal who hates losing,’ says Pep

The former boss has been talking about his time at Barcelona

Pep Guardiola has been reminiscing about the good old days at Barcelona and has described Lionel Messi as a “a competitive and fierce animal who hates losing.”

The 47-year-old also spoke about his legendary team which won two Champions Leagues titles and dominated Spanish football

“The two times we won the Champions League it was with seven players from the youth team, players like Xavi, Iniesta and Valdes,” he said.

“They all arrived at the club aged seven or eight and became stars. The club had confidence in me, I came through the underage categories and we had the money to buy great players.

”We also had the best player in the world. These things happen once in a lifetime”

It’s not the first time this season Pep’s been talking about Barcelona. He spoke in September about his desire to return to the club and finish his career working with the youth teams.
