Barcelona plan on signing five players in 2019

There could be plenty of incomings this year

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona plan on signing five players in 2019. The report claims that this is the case regardless of how well Barcelona do this season. It’s been well documented, Barcelona’s core is growing pretty old in age. Most of the core are over 30 at this point and so rejuvenating that core is essential regardless of how the season goes out.

They plan to grab a new goalkeeper to serve as backup for Marc-Andre ter Stegen which means a replacement for Jasper Cillessen. The other defensive goals are to sign two defenders. Given Thomas Vermaelen’s contract ending this year there will be only three main defenders at the start of next season. With how the injuries have gone it remains important that they sign a couple of defenders.

The final two signings plan to be a new central defender and a number 9. The midfielder plans to be an eventual replacement for Busquets and a new forward to provide some backup and support to Luis Suarez.

Which five players would you like Barcelona to bring in this year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
