Valverde talks rotation, Liverpool and Levante
The latest updates from the Barcelona boss
Ernesto Valverde has been talking to the press ahead of Saturday’s La Liga clash against Levante at the Camp Nou.
The Barcelona boss spoke about the team’s desire to win La Liga on Saturday against Levante, the possibility of rotating his team and next week’s Champions League semi-final against Liverpool.
Valverde on Levante
Tomorrow we want to be champions. It’s the game we have been waiting for all season. It’s special to be able to celebrate the title with the fans. We place great value on the league title because it marks the season. In the league you have to be up to it at several moments and situations during the whole season if you want to be champions. Levante are involved in the relegation battle and those teams pick up most points at the end of the season. We predict a tough match but the league is at stake.
Valverde on Liverpool
The Liverpool game is on our minds, but we also have to focus on tomorrow’s game. Winning the title tomorrow would boost our moral for the game against Liverpool. You always have something in your head, we’re looking at the opponent, but I want to set it aside because of the importance of the league. We would like it to be the highlight.
Valverde on rotation
It’s possible there will be one or two changes. But we have four days until the game against Liverpool and winning tomorrow, for what it signifies, is something powerful ahead of Wednesday. They [Liverpool] have one more day of rest, so we could give one or two players a rest.
