Barca need Coutinho to shine at the Copa America

The Brazilian’s future remains in doubt

Philippe Coutinho’s future continues to make headlines, with the latest report claiming he has told Barcelona he wants to leave the Camp Nou this summer.

According to Cadena SER, the Brazilian is pretty sad at the way his move to Barcelona has turned out and has already informed the Spanish champions that it’s best he goes.

The problem is that is not as simple as all that. Barcelona would want at least €90 million for the former Liverpool man, and there are not many clubs who would be willing to pay that amount.

However, as the report points out, there is still a long way to go in the summer transfer window and a Copa America in Brazil still to play.

Brazil’s hopes have taken a huge blow this week with the news that talisman Neymar is going to miss the tournament with an ankle injury.

Neymar’s absence is a massive blow for Tite’s men, but it does mean that if Coutinho can step up and shine at the tournament it could have a big impact on where he will be playing his football next season.

Coutinho’s stock is pretty low currently after a disappointing campaign with Barcelona, but as well all know things can change pretty quickly in football. And the Brazilian will know that he is not just playing for the Copa America, he’s playing for his future as well.
