Sky is reporting that Barcelona are interested in Gianluigi Buffon as a potential number two keeper. Jasper Cillessen has been linked with different moves, specifically to Manchester United, and might be on his way out.

After only one year at PSG, it remains unclear why Buffon is leaving other than his contract ending. It also remains foggy if Buffon wishes to fade into a number two role yet. Despite being 41, the keeper can still pull great games out of his hat.

Perhaps settling into a number two role at a big club would be perfect for Buffon. He could give Barcelona intermittent keeper minutes at a veteran, smart level. The report also stipulates that Buffon isn’t interested in raking in the cash in the Chinese Super League, so a move to Barcelona could be a possibility.
