Malcom departs the Camp Nou after just one season following a somewhat controversial transfer from Bordeaux when the Blaugrana swooped in, paid a couple extra million and almost literally stole Malcom from AS Roma when the Brazilian was on a plane on his way to Rome.
The expectations for Malcom weren’t exactly sky-high with Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembélé ahead of him, but he wasn’t afforded the right number of opportunities and finishes his Barça career with just 24 appearances, 11 starts and four goals.
His most memorable game in a Blaugrana shirt was the Copa del Rey semifinal first leg against Real Madrid at Camp Nou, when Malcom produced a Man of the Match performance and scored the equalizer in a 1-1 draw.
Good luck in Russia, Malcom!
