Bayern willing to break transfer record for Coutinho - report

The German team has been extremely pleased with Coutinho

Bayern Munich could break their own transfer record to make the signing of Philippe Coutinho permanent, according to Diario SPORT. The Brazilian is dazzling while on loan from Barcelona and it comes as no surprise to hear that the Bavarians want to keep him. The biggest issue is the price tag. Bayern have not followed other European giants in terms of paying gigantic transfer fees, and Barça want to recoup a large portion of the money they invested in signing Coutinho from Liverpool.

Bayern broke their record over the summer, paying 80 million euro to land Atlético Madrid’s Lucas Hernandez. That’s their only signing above 50 million, although it does prove they will go higher for the right man.

The German club has a buy option to make Coutinho’s move permanent for 120 million euro, and SPORT assures us they are willing to do just that if he continues his performances. They have already invested 8.5 million as a one-time loan fee.

The Brazilian himself is reportedly happy at the club, which has made him regained his confidence. However, other clubs could also be ready to pounce if the Germans do not want to pay the full price.
