The midfielder was lucky to escape injury on Saturday

Barcelona B boss Fran Garcia Pimienta was pretty unhappy with the treatment dished out to midfielder Riqui Puig on Saturday.

The 20-year-old embarked on a slaloming run against Orihuela and saw Jose Carlos and then Pedro Ingles launch into dangerous tackles in a bid to stop him.

Ingles did at least receive a yellow card for the challenge that eventually brought Puig down in the 93rd minute but Garcia Pimienta felt it should have been red.

“We have been lucky because it seemed very serious to me. When I have seen it on the video it looked brutal, there are two players that can do a lot of damage, because I think they intend to go for him.

“The referee has to see very clearly when the player goes in badly. And today it was very clear that it should have been red.”
