Rakitic spotted walking home from international duty
The midfielder was caught up in protests in Barcelona
Ivan Rakitic simply can’t seem to catch a break at the moment after he was spotted walking home from international duty with Croatia.
The midfielder has spent most of the season on the bench at Barcelona and found himself out of the starting XI again on Monday for Croatia’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Wales.
Rakitic came on at half-time of the game but then headed back to Barcelona where he got caught up in mass protests that blocked traffic around El Prat Airport.

El Pais reported that Rakitic flew back into Barcelona on Monday but was unable to drive out of the airport due to all the protestors. They snapped him on his phone apparently saying: “The road is blocked, what am I going to do?”
Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde, who was returning from Bilbao, and Frenkie de Jong, on his way back from Netherlands duty, were also caught up in the chaos, according to La Vanguardia.
