Semedo says he prefers to attack than defend

The Barcelona full-back loves to get forward

Nelson Semedo spoke out this week about his time at Barcelona and how he envisions his playing style. The comments came at a Nike event on Thursday, and he discussed his preferences on attacking and defending.

“I’m a fast player who likes to have the ball and to attack more than to defend. The team always wants the ball and to attack. Barca’s full backs have to be able to go deep and have good fitness to get up and down the pitch, it’s not easy, and to that you have to add quality.

“It was important in my career to have played as a midfielder at the start, something that made me better.”

Semedo’s aggressive playing style should serve him well. Aggressive, smart full-backs are all the hype in football. Becoming an offensively talented full-back who can do enough defensively to stay afloat will keep him at the top for years.
