The Frenchman needs to mature

Barcelona mdifielder Arturo Vidal has been talking about team-mate Ousmane Dembele and has offered the Frenchman some advice.

Dembele is now into his third season at Barcelona since joining from Borussia Dortmund in August 2017 but his time at the club has been disrupted by injury.

The 22-year-old has yet to really live up to his huge transfer fee, and Vidal reckons he needs to mature and listen to his body.

“Ousmane is a footballer with a crazy talent . When he reaches maturity, he will be an important player of Barça and the France team. But, clearly, he needs to mature. To listen to your body, to be better prepared to avoid injuries. If you want to be the best, you have to get up, eat and go to bed thinking football. I think Ousmane will realize at some point that he has to do more.

“I speak to him a lot. He’s a nice boy. He is the first to want to be the best. He arrived in Barça at the age of 20, without much experience. Ousmane must become aware of what he really wants in life, know where he plays and with whom he plays. But I think I see an evolution. He must continue like this.“

Dembele was back in the starting XI against Sevilla last time out and scored his first goal of the season in the 4-0 win. However, he also picked up a red card for dissent which puts him back on the sidelines for two games.
