OFFICIAL: Todibo leaves Barcelona for Schalke loan

The defender is headed to the Bundesliga

Barcelona confirmed on Wednesday that Jean-Clair Todibo had joined Schalke on loan until the rest of the season.

The defender will spent the rest of the season in the Bundesliga, and the deal includes a purchase option of €25 million plus €5m in variables.

Barcelona have also inserted a rather crazy buyback option into the deal of €50m plus €10m in variables.

Todibo only arrived at the Camp Nou in January from Toulouse on a free transfer but has struggled for game time and leaves in search of regular minutes.

He becomes the club’s second departure of the January transfer window, following Carles Alena out of the exit door, let’s hope we get to see him back at some point.
