We get the status of Rodrigo, Aubameyang, Tadić, and more

Barcelona’s search for a striker to supplant the injured Luis Suárez continues, but only a few days are left for a deal to be agreed. Barça tried to find a deal with Valencia for Rodrigo, but the two parties never agreed terms and talks broke down. Now, the Catalans are scrambling.

Dušan Tadić (Ajax) was mentioned as a possibility yesterday but new reports say he’s off the table. In addition, a few other names are being scratched off the list: Willian José (Real Sociedad), Fernando Llorente (Napoli), Krzysztof Piątek (AC Milan), Pedro (Chelsea) and Islam Slimani (AS Monaco.)

ESPN sources have also said that Richarlison (Everton), Loren Morón (Real Betis), Gonzalo Higuaín (Juventus), and Dušan Tadić (Ajax) are not options.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been mentioned as costing 60 million by The Sun, however, he may also have been crossed off the list.

Diario SPORT says Aubameyang, Lautaro Martínez (Inter Milan), and Timo Werner (RB Leipzig) are too costly. SPORT mentions a few possibilities, a couple that have been discard by others - Piątek, Morón, and Pedro - and a couple new names - Carlos Vela (Los Angeles FC), Dries Mertens (Napoli) and Olivier Giroud (Chelsea).

Finally there’s some new murmurs that there either won’t be a signing at all, or that it won’t be a forward or striker at all who is signed...
