The Brazilian enjoyed his time at the Camp Nou

Malcom has been talking about his time at Barcelona and said he fulfilled his dreams by playing for the club but was sad to leave the Camp Nou.

The Brazilian joined from Bordeaux in the summer of 2018 but was to sold to Zenit St Petersburg after just one season in La Liga after struggling for game time.

Malcom says he left for Zenit “because he wanted to play” and thinks he did a good job during his brief time at Barcelona.

“The only thing that stays [with me] is that each time I had the opportunity, I was ready to play - no one can say otherwise.

“When I was on the pitch, I gave everything; I did well, I gave the game a bit more energy. I left a bit sad, but I knew that I’d fulfilled my dream.

“I played in the Champions League, I scored against Real Madrid in a Clasico and I left with a calm head because I did a good job.”

Malcom’s time at Zenit has been disrupted by injury so far. He managed two appearances at the start of the season but then picked up a muscle problem and hasn’t featured since.
