The duo could depart in January

Monday’s papers bring bad news for Barcelona youngsters Riqui Puig and Carles Alena who are said to be on the club’s ‘exit ramp’ ahead of the January transfer window.

The two players are on the front page of Sport along with a report that the club is “already looking” for “attractive options” for the two midfielders.

Barca are hoping both players will go out on loan to “continue growing.” Alena is said to be already tired of waiting for opportunities and is hoping to move to a La Liga club.

Getafe seems to be a possible option for the 22-year-old. Apparently Jose Bordalas’s side were interested in signing Alena in the summer and could reignite their interest.

Convincing Puig to move looks a much tougher proposition. The midfielder remains reluctant to leave even though he’s only managed three minutes this season.

Benfica and Porto are mentioned as two clubs who would love to have Puig, but the midfielder has not yet been interested in talking to either side.
