La Liga can resume from June 8, says Spain’s prime minister
The competition is set to restart next month
Spain’s prime minister Pedro Sanchez has confirmed that La Liga can resume from June 8 after being suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Spain has done what it should and now new horizons are opening for everyone. The time has come to bring back many day-to-day activities,” he said.
“From 8 June, La Liga will be back. Spanish football has a huge following but it will not be the only recreational activity that will return.”

Lockdown measures in the country have been eased recently with Barcelona able to return to training at first individually and then in groups.
Quique Setien’s side will now be looking forward to resuming their 2019-20 campaign which was halted in March with Barca top of the table with 11 games left to play.
