Lautaro Martínez’s boyhood club would build a school with part of the money Barcelona use to buy him

Liniers are hoping the Catalans make their move

Liniers, the boyhood club of Lautaro Martínez, are hoping FC Barcelona makes a move and signs the Inter Milan star. The tiny Buenos Aires-based club will receive a relatively large sum of money if the deal goes through, and will use it to build a new school.

“If Lautaro were to transfer to Barcelona, it would allow us to make buildings for the school inside of our sporting complex, which is very big,” the president of the club, Carlos Pablo, said.

Liniers has already benefited from Lautaro’s transfers in the past, as a lot of money came in when Racing sold him to Inter. The club gets paid due to being the school that formed him, and they also get a portion of the money Racing gets on each sale.

“Here at Liniers we are looking from the outside at the negotiation between Barcelona and Inter. On this topic with Lautaro, I do not speak. But we await with expectation. Obviously we want the transfer to go through for him and for everything he represents for the club,” Pablo said.
