“Market Clásico“ as Barcelona and Real Madrid set to battle for Fabián Ruiz
The Napoli midfielder is a hot commodity
El Clásico is heating up, but in the transfer market - as Barcelona and Real Madrid are both in for Napoli’s Fabián Ruiz, according to rumor.
While the transfer saga was put on hold after the coronavirus crisis hit the football world, it seems things are back on now. And the report claims Napoli are well aware the two La Liga giants will be doing battle for the midfielder.
Both clubs will open up their wallets and try to pry him from club president Aurelio de Laurentiis’s hands. Ruiz has a contract until 2023, and Napoli wants to extend it until 2025 to keep him in Italy for a bit longer.
The player was signed from Real Betis in 2018, where he was given his big break by Barça’s current manager, Quique Setién. Rumor has it that Setién is enthused about reuniting with his former pupil.
