Umtiti expected to miss three weeks with latest injury

The defender picked up a calf problem in training

Samuel Umtiti’s calf injury is expected to keep the Barcelona centre-back on the sidelines for around three weeks.

The Frenchman picked up the problem on Saturday in what was only the club’s second session after being given the green light to resume training amid the coronavirus crisis.

Barcelona did not put a timeline on how long he would be out for, but reports in Spain reckon he will miss the next three weeks.

Although La Liga teams have resumed training this week there’s still no confirmation of when the 2019-20 campaign will resume.

Leganes boss Javier Aguirre has said he’s been told La Liga will restart on June 20 and run until July 26, with games being played at weekends and in midweek.
