The club have real financial problems

Barcelona will reportedly only get to use money they make from selling players this summer for new transfers. ESPN reported that the supposed transfer budget of €60 and €75 million that’s been available each summer since 2015, won’t be available.

We wondered how the Covid-19 pandemic would effect the economics of Barcelona, and if this is true, then we have our answer. Cutting the transfer budget is an easy way to make up for some of the significant losses that the club had while football was away.

We’ve continually thought that somehow Lautaro Martinez and Neymar were options for Barcelona this summer. The more we understand about how the financials of Barcelona are in peril, the more it seems like it’ll be a near miracle to pull off one of them.
