Deadline day for Lautaro Martínez: July 7
Inter CEO says it’s time for Barcelona to put up or shut up
Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has revealed that Lautaro Martínez’s release clause expires on July 7th, not on the 15th, as previously rumored.
While Barcelona could still agree a deal after this date, their bargaining position would weaken. In Barcelona, the sports papers say this makes July 7th effectively a deadline to get a deal done.
“We will see what Barcelona want to do, and later we will sit down at the table with the player and see what he wants to do,” Marotta said.
The Inter boss was bullish about his team, insisting they were more interested in buying than selling.
Lautaro’s clause is set at 111 million euros, although rumors suggest Barcelona will only make a deal that consists of a sum of money significantly less than that, plus a few players.
