The youngsters have a busy week ahead of them

Barcelona are reportedly planning to keep youngsters Riqui Puig and Ansu Fati with the first-team squad for as long as the title race is still alive.

Quique Setien’s side have just two games left to play, against Osasuna and Alaves, and will keep the duo with the squad all week if the title race goes to the wire, according to Sport.

Yet the two players are also needed by Barca B for their promotion play-off against Valladolid Promesas on July 19.

Barca B are due to travel to Malaga on Friday and are expected to be without Puig, Ansu and Ronald Araujo if the first-team still need the trio.

Of course it’s all down to Setien and he could decide to allow Puig and Araujo to return to Barca B, but it’s seems unlikely Ansu will be given permission due to Antoine Griezmann’s injury.

The Frenchman is expected to miss both La Liga games which will leave Setien, who admitted on Saturday that Lionel Messi needs a rest, a little short of forwards.
