Araujo out for ‘at least three weeks’ with ankle injury
The defender will miss some crucial games
Barcelona confirmed on Monday that Ronald Araujo has suffered a sprained left ankle with reports suggesting the Uruguay international will miss at least three weeks.
The center-back limped out of Sunday’s win over Real Betis early on and now joins fellow defenders Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto on the sidelines.

Catalunya Radio report that Araujo will miss “a minimum of three weeks,” which means he’s out of the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Sevilla and next week’s Champions League first leg against Paris Saint-Germain.
The news will be a real blow to Barcelona and manager Ronald Koeman with Araujo having been in great form this season for the Catalan giants.
His absence also leave the team short of defenders for the two big games with just Oscar Mingueza, Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti available, although Frenkie de Jong appears to be an option at center-back too.
Gerard Pique was back in training last week but there’s still no word on when he might be fit enough to return after a lengthy spell out with knee trouble.
