‘I’d give him and Neymar the ball and sit back and watch’

Marco Verratti has become the latest player to talk up the possibility of Lionel Messi moving from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The midfielder, who was once a target for Barcelona, has already been thinking about what it would be like to play in the same team as the Argentine and Neymar.

“Of course I would like to play with Messi. I would give him and Neymar the ball and sit back and watch a little bit. It would be amazing to have him with us, another present for me from football.”

Verratti joins Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes, PSG sporting director Leonardo and new boss Mauricio Pochettino in talking about Messi possibly heading to PSG this season.

The midfielder’s words will not go down well with Barca boss Ronald Koeman who has already hit out at PSG for their pursuit of his captain, calling recent comments “disrespectful.”

Messi may also not be too impressed, if recent reports are to be believed. Goal‘s Ruben Uria, who interviewed Messi in December, has reported that Messi is tired of hearing talk about a PSG move and has tried to distance himself from the rumors.
