Another step closer to the playoffs

Barcelona B picked up another very impressive result on Saturday by beating Alcoyano 2-1 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Francisco Javier García Pimienta was able to name a strong team with Ilaix Moriba back in the team alongside Alex Collado, Konrad de la Fuente and Arnau Tenas.

First-team coach Ronald Koeman was spotted in the stands keeping an eye on Barca B who were playing the side that knocked Real Madrid out of the Copa del Rey earlier this season.

Barca took the lead midway through the first half in some style when Rey Manaj skillfully converted a cross in from the right by Konrad.

The visitors doubled their lead early in the second half with a brilliant free-kick from captain Alex Collado that beat the wall and flew into the top corner.

Alcoyano did manage to pull one back in the 89th minute but it was not enough to deny the hosts a very important victory in their first game of the second phase of Segunda B.
