Experienced ref Mateu Lahoz has officially ben named as the ref for the upcoming match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. The Valencian-born Lahoz has been in charge of 5 clásicos in the past. Madrid won three of them, Barcelona one, and the last one was a draw.

He has also refereed 41 games involving Madrid and 42 games involving Barcelona. Madrid won 24 of the 33 matches that Lahoz was in charge of, with three draws and six losses. In the Copa del Rey, Los blancos played 7 matches with Lahoz in charge, which resulted in four wins, two draws, and one loss. And finally, in the Supercup, Madrid won the only game refereed by him.
